Ride the Cyclone

Ride the Cyclone is one of my favorite musicals of all time. I would love to be in a production of it one day. My dream role of all dream roles is actually Ocean. I love her character arc and I really love her monologue at the end. To be transparent, I do know about the transphobia and ableism that one actor for Ricky faced. I am also very aware of the poor choice to continually cast non-disabled actors as Ricky. I am physically disabled myself, so this issue is very importnat to me. I have not heard news or information about this for a while, so I am unsure if this situatuion was ever made right or not. However, this musical means a lot to me, and I have conflciting feelings about the whole situation. Ride the Cyclone is an excellent musical despite of this. Trigger warnings for: child death(are they 18?), rollercoaster accidents, depression, homophobia, Social Darwinism, and ableism. I may be missing some, but those are the warnings I can think of right now.
